Post Mills Montague Dam removal underway
What's all that noise?
The Post Mills Montague Dam removal project started this week, and it has some residents asking, "What's all that noise?" Read Sidenote's earlier article for background information on the project.
The dam will be removed in a matter of days. However, excavation work will continue through August as the river is restored to a more natural course. Revegetation will occur next spring once the river has had the winter to settle in.
We will write an in-depth article once the summer work is completed, but for now, here's what you're hearing down in the Ompompanoosuc in Post Mills:
